...It won't play blu-ray movies either. PS2 games and SD movies are fine. For example: I load GTA IV and within 5 minutes of play it freezes; faster if i try and go to the map screen. After resetting I can not get the game to load at all. Is my problem the laser or overheating?

the hell are you talking about were does this PS2 come from...
dont tell me you are putting blue ray and ps3 games in a ps2

cant tell which problem but its a problem take it to good electronic shop and tell them to repair it, if they cant you will have to buy a new one

GTA 4 messes up the ps3 now you need to get a new gta 4 if you still want that crap and send your ps3 back to sony and get a new one

Sounds like the laser assembly is damaged. It will only get worse over time, and eventually stop reading all discs altogether.

Call Sony to see about getting it repaired.

I wouldn't know what the problem is. If you still have your warranty and you haven't tampered with the warranty seal contact Sony and they will repair it for you free of charge. If your warranty has expired or it has been voided because you tampered with the warranty seal than Sony will charge you for repair. Or you could simply buy a brand new system if money is not the issue.

call sony and tell them the situation every ps3 comes with a one year warranty so if u havent had ur ps3 for over a year sony will fix it for free
