ive heard that MGS4 is a 50 GB game, if I use it on a 40GB PS3, will it crash? iive read in some threads that some gamers PS3 CRASHED with MGS4, that a 60 or 80 GB ps3 is needed for the game.m asking so I can avoid a lot of headaches.

What? No. 40gb means your hard drive is that big. the 50gb they are talking about refers to the amount on the blu ray that is used. Your system should be fine.

its not a 50gb game then why would konami make it if the ps3 will crash they are not fools! ts probably 5 gb!

The blu-ray size has nothing to do with the hard drive size.

Although there is 50GB of data on the MGS4 blu-ray disc, only about 10GB of it is copied to your hard drive. It will not crash your PS3.

All PS3s can play all PS3 games.

The Blu-ray disc can hold 50 GB which is about what MGS4 uses.

The PS3 itself just runs the disc like any ordinary disc you have. The one thing you must know is that MGS4 requires a mandatory install to actually play MGS4.

This mandatory install is about 5 GB which, at any time, you can just delete it off your game data and always re-download it at a later time.

As for it crashing... well, no, it won't. The only way it would crash is if your PS3 was bad and defected.

The hard drive you have is 40GBs.

MGS4 is 50GBs of data on the disc. It won't TAKE UP 50GBs on your Hard Drive!

It will take up a few GBs of space.

But even if you have a 20GB or 40GB or 60GB PS3 model, I would upgrade to 120GB.

Its a future proof console.

YES, you can play MGS4 on a 40 GB PS3 with no problems.

When they say 40 GB, they're refereing to the size of the PS3's Hard Drive, although MGS4 is a 50 GB game, it only takes 4.5 GB to install on the PS3's Hard Drive; 50 GB is refering to the size of the DISC, if it took up 50 GB to install, you could only have 1 game for every PS3 model.

And, there was a limited edition bundle of MGS4 with the 40 GB PS3, if it couldn't play on the 40 GB, why would they pack the game with it? :P

no my cousin has mgs 4 and has a 40gb and has no problems. mgs 4 is 50gb but doesnt take up 50gb of space it takes up like 3 or 4gb so dont worry.

i have a 60gb ps3 and mgs 4 and havent had a problem
